Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

I had to be convinced to try Aurelio's sausage thin-crust pizza. I normally hate sausage. I took a bite and it was sheer heaven. The crust was thin and crunchy, and seems to be infused with cheese. The toppings are generous, and the sausage was tasty, not laden with fat and gristle. Now that I've eaten at Aurelio's at least ten times (and have probably gained a comparable number of pounds), I can say that the pizza is consistently great. The service is always fast and friendly. Mr. Aurelio takes good care of his customers here. Nice beer and wine list. The place is kid-friendly, which doesn't make it the best date-night place, but as a parent, I appreciate how kind the staff is to the little ones. There is an arcade in the back, full of new and vintage games. Finally, Aurelio's has a frequent-diner club, as well as 1/2-price bottles of wine Monday nights. I've really come to love this place.

My husband and I were recently turned on to Aurelio's by our neighbors/friends and it has quickly replaced our other go to pizza place in the area! I can't believe we didn't know about it earlier! We LOVE their thin crust pizza. We have tried the thick crust pizza and it was eh - not for us. But their thin crust is amazing. I love the cheeses they use and love how the cheese is on the crust as well so this crispy crunchy goodness forms - so yummy. We almost always order for pick up and have yet to eat there. The pizza is always ready in a reasonable time, even on a busy Friday night. One time we got delivery and were impressed when the delivery driver called to let us know he was stuck by a train - something that can happen often by where we live. I liked that courtesy.

Man, I do NOT know who these people are who are giving this pizza 4-5 stars. I grew up in Chicago appreciating great thin-crust pizza (Father & Son's, Pete's Pizza, even Rosati's) and this is NOT that. The crust was fair. The sausage was alright. The cheese seemed to be a blend of mozzarella and cheddar (yuck). My sister now lives in Hillside so I was excited to try a new spot in her neighborhood and this spot got the highest ratings. I've been told that Q's is good or Rocky's. I'll try those next. I even asked for it to be cooked in the "old oven" which supposedly makes it crispier. It was not crispy at all, I even ordered it well-done. Sorry. I hate writing low-star reviews but I've gotta be honest.

Hosted a baby shower event there last May and outcome was wonderful! Great service, guest enjoyed the food! It is a very friendly atmosphere!

I love Aurelio's... but you're not really Aurelio's yet. I don't know if your oven hasn't seen enough pizzas yet, but you're just not right. Your crust is a little to airy and your cheese doesn't seem to be quite like the others. I taste little hints of it on the edges of some of the pieces and so I feel like maybe some day you'll be crazy tasty, but you're just not yet. I really was so excited to find out that you've popped up in La Grange and hopefully one day soon you'll be able to give me my Aurelio's fix.
(3)Michelle M.
Hands down best Pizza Ever!!! We ordered the every thing veggie pizza and it came out perfect. The combo of the suce and crust is my favorite. The service is always good and the food comes out right. A consistently good choice for a family pizza night out.

Grew up in Homewood and ate pizza from the original Aurelio's all the time and still head down there several times a year to indulge. The pizza at the LaGrange location simply is not the same although a good pizza. The cheese is not the same texture or quality. The crust isn't quite as crisp either. A step below. The antipasti salad is very good and service excellent. The bar however has quite limited options and lack of ability to make pretty standard drinks. The reason for the 3 stars is the price was over the moon. One large pizza was $28.00. 1 salad, pizza and beer/pedestrian glass of wine for 4 was $120 with the 20% tip. Seems awfully high for an after work pizza stop.

One of the boys I used to work with used to absolutely SWEAR by the pizza at the Aurelio's LaGrange location, insisting it was "the best pizza in Chicago" (as long as I ask for the "old world oven" when ordering). I finally took him up on the recommendation and came here for dinner with my siblings on a very cold, snowy evening. We walked around the LaGrange downtown area, not entirely sure where we were going to eat. We walked by the Wood-Fired Pizza restaurant and decided to skip it because it was small and the ambiance didn't seen warm and inviting. Thus, we ended up at Aurelio's and I wouldn't have had it any other way. "This is exactly the atmosphere I'm looking for," my sister declared. "It has just the right amount of cozy and kitschy while still feeling a bit diner-y." There were tons of local framed photos adoring the walls, which took up a lot of space because of the high ceilings. The booths each have a placard with the names of different Western suburbs. We sat in Hinsdale and I noticed many others, including Cicero, Berwyn, Clarenden Hills, Brookfield, and Riverside. We decided to order a large thin crust pizza, which is their famous pizza, with fresh garlic and sausage as toppings ($2.25 each). I was worried that thin crust might be too thin or soggy, as many thin crust pizzas can be, but this one was perfect! It definitely had some thickness to it. The fresh garlic was perfection. There were nice big chunks of delightfully fresh garlic--my favorite! Aurelio's definitely has some of the best pizza I have tried to date in the western suburbs. Even though we were full, we couldn't say no to the deep dish cookie dough dessert (it's $6 and serves 2-4). It had ice cream, whipped cream, and was sinfully decadent. Don't skip this! Overall, my only complaint is that service was a bit slow despite it not being crowded. There seemed to be a lot of staff standing around and watching the Golden Globes. That being said, they were all perfectly friendly! I look forward to coming here again for pizza in the future, especially so I can share it with more people!
(4)Ann B.
There are so many other better pizza options here in Chicago. And don't even bother with anything else on the menu. I ordered the Chicken Parmigiana tonight and honestly, I've had Lean Cuisine frozen dinners that have tasted better. The service has been ok but a bit pokey every time we've been there. This location is also incredibly noisy. Bottom line: if you're just looking for pizza and happen to be nearby, it's an ok spot. But if you're looking for something that's not mediocre, I recommend going elsewhere.
(2)Hannah S.
My friend's local relatives took us here. Best stuffed pizza I've had! Yummy crust & sauce, with tasty italian sauce & onions. It was my first time having calamari and I really enjoyed it (my friend says she's had better, but I thought the batter at least was well seasoned). Fried zucchini scrumptious as well. Staff was very friendly and attentive and parking seemed to be plentiful.
(4)Rob F.
When I roll my mouse pointer over 3 stars before writing this review, the description is "A-OK." Rolling over 2 stars says "Meh. I've experienced better." The pizza and salad were both good, as was the service. And the personnel were great. But.... all the warm fuzzies we were feeling about our meal disappeared when the bill arrived. $49 for one large pizza, salad for two, one beer, and one soft drink? Toss in a 20% tip (the service and food were good), and we're looking at almost $60 for a $30 meal. If money is no object, stop in and enjoy yourself - the food, personnel, and service are all good. But if you're interested in getting good value for your money, try someplace else.
(2)Rocky R.
This review is based solely off the pizza. The cheese blend is delicious I love the sauce. The crust is just perfect. One of my favorites pizzas ever.

Grew up eating Aurelio's from Oak Brook Terrace and Downers Grove. I haven't had it in years but since by Dad moved to La Grange I picked up a pie for me and him The good is that it was ready on time. The staff at the front desk were great. They fetched the pizza in mere seconds and it was hot and exactly what I ordered. We ordered for take out but the dining room itself is quite nice. They have a bar area and booths along the wall with pics of all the train stations along the West suburban Burlington Northern train line. So why three stars? I'm sorry but for a 13 inch pizza the cost was really hight. And, what pizzeria has 13 inch pizzas? 12", 14", 16" yep but 13" what the heck is that? Anyway, I ordered it thin and crispy and it was tasty but $22 for a 13 inch two topping pizza for carry out??? Mushroom and sausage. Yep, I didn't order canary tongues on toast points or fois gras on organic flat bread folks. Nope, just your basic S and M pizza. The crust wasn't rolled and I do appreciate the art of that but nope, that was your basic pizza with two of the most basic toppings on a flour crust. No whole wheat or gluten free thing going on here. The cheese was minimal which is OK but if I'm wasting calories on a pizza I want that thing cheesed out to the max. Even my 89 year old dad with poor eyesight said "where's the cheese?!" Don't think I'll be back. I'm spoiled by so many Chicago and suburban pizza places that are better and priced appropriately. Aurelio's now has places all over the place so maybe they got too big and greedy. Who knows!
(3)Rubrya G.
Hands down best Aurelio's pizza in the area amazing pizza !!! We come out here all the way from Wheaton! Soo delicious!
(5)Victoria A.
Service is horrible unless you ask for Tracy! She's great! Prices are WAY to high. 27 dollars for just a cheese pizza that's nuts. OUTRAGEOUS. The pizza isn't even that great. Don't ask for old over because you won't get it. They don't have an old oven.
(1)Mskoolkat007 N.
My family and I went on Saturday night crowd was minimal, quickly seated. We enjoyed the spinach salad, very good. Mozzarella sticks yummy. We ordered the tomato, green peppers and spinach specialty thin pizza. Omg superb. Deliciously roasted veggies cooked to perfection. Perfectly diced. A must have... So worth the visit.
(5)Andre H.
Aurelio's has a place in my heart as it reminds of me of my high school days when I used to go to the one in Palos Heights. I have yet to go to one that tastes different than the others which is good because I know I'll never be disappointed. This particular location in La Grange is a lot different than the one I used to frequent in Palos. It's pretty big on the inside and able to accommodate large parties. I would love to give them 5 stars but their pizza can be a little pricey for some and back when I was in high school, pizza was all I could afford and they have a lot more on the menu today that I want to try so I will be updating this review in the future along with a dine-in experience. Right now I'm digging on the sausage and giardiniera pizza.

Good pizza right price + Delivery!
(5)Amanda R.
This location is struggling. Last few times my fiancé and I have had disappointing experiences. Every server has been inexperienced and unprofessional. Aurelios is our favorite local pizza place but it's just not worth it coming here anymore I've had my last bad experience. Side note: they haven't updated there drinking age limit signage either. Still reads 1993 (smh) it's almost April...
(1)M G.
Ordered for delivery, and defenetly expected more for my buck. I mean pizza is pizza but this is not good at all. Might as well go around the corner to dinicos and get your money's worth and your tummy will thank you!
(1)Pat S.
Second time here and love this place, great service and food/drinks. Feel like Al Capone and treated like a boss!! Had the spicy shrimp pasta and was fire and biggest shrimp I ever had than in any other restaurant! Will always be coming here to dine before coming to Marcus cinemark next door.
(5)Alex P.
We always tend to enjoy the pizza here , however the experience we had yesterday Sunday shifted my opinion. Pizza lead time was fairly long considering the restaurant was not busy. The main reason for two stars was absolutely horrible service. If you've ever felt like you had to try to not get on the nerves of a server this sums up the experience. We felt ignored, never got drink refills or even a chance to order another drink, and even had to go to the host to request our check.
(2)susie o.
I have had 2 more parties here and still a wonderful experience and great service. The owner is fab and manager (I never met) I am sure he is awesome too!
(5)Mary G.
The La Grange Aurillio's does not have that chain pizza place feel. It is homie and the food is great. The also have great gluten free pizza. They also have a cute bar area if you feel like watching a game. I am a big fan of Aurillios.
(4)Sheetal K.
We placed a large order this past weekend for my son's birthday! We had worked directly with Andrew and Eric & they have made the catering experience smooth as possible. The food was on time and tasted amazing! The pasta was delicious and tasty. We will definitely continue to dine and cater for all future events.
(5)Suzanne Z.
Fantastic pizza, friendly staff. This place can get pretty crowded/busy, so don't be surprised if you have to wait during prime hours. Good wine selection... I will be back here again!
(4)R J.
Stopped in for a light bite. They don't sell by the slice, so ordered a small-ish gluten free pizza after asking the server's opinion of their GF crust. She hadn't tried it- but said the typical "it's very popular". It came out with burned crust. Not just a little crisp- BLACK. Which I pointed out when asked my opinion by server. "I think the gluten free cooks faster, maybe?", she quipped. My thought? Really? Then maybe cook it.... Less??? Even if these toppings and weird orange cheese combo were on a regular crust- I'd be inclined to not like it. Will I give it another try? No- not with so many other good pizza options around.
(3)Scott B.
Aurelio's has some of the best thin crust in the area. The sauce and the sausage are both excellent and the thin crust holds up the ingredients well. My major gripe with this place is the price. End up spending around 30 bucks for a pizza (half cheese/half sausage). When compared to Giordano's, the value is just not there. But, if you're willing to spend the extra money, it is a solid thin crust.
(3)Sean K.
Been my favorite pizza spot for years. The sauce, the crust, the cheese - it all comes together so well. Usually order a thin crust with pineapple and sausage and it always comes out perfect. The atmosphere is fun and pays homage to the surrounding towns with historical pictures and Burlington Railroad signs all around. It's also great to see most of the host and waitstaff is made up by area teens most likely working their first part time job. I think it's great the owner, Ross gives such an opportunity for this as most businesses in the area seem to be staffed only by those who are older. Do yourself a favor and stop by. You won't regret it.
(5)Bob F.
Very good experience over all. My girlfriend and I almost went to The bigger chain pizza place down the street but I am very glad we chose to go with this place. I got a stuffed pizza with sausage and mushrooms. The cheese and sauce were unique and delicious. The waitress was friendly and attentive but not smothering. I highly recommend this place if you're looking to get stuffed pizza while you're in the area.
(5)Grant P.
Growing up, I remember hating Aurelio's with a passion. The ones in Orland and Tinley were gross rubbery messes. But after my BFF (I know it's not manly to say "BFF." Shut up.) took me back, I gave them another shot. I'm happy to say I was wrong because this is the best thin pizza I've had in a long time! I love what they do to the crust. The cheese kind of crisps up around the edge and melts in your mouth. The service is quite good too, and very friendly. The gal at the counter put a note on my account to let me know when downtown La Grange is hosting special events, so when I come it's almost impossible to park. This is definitely going on my list of places to become a regular at.
(5)Eric Y.
Decent pizza but inconsistent. When it's good, it's real good, and when it's not, it's ... meh. When it's good, the crust is crispy and the cheese is just a little burned - and what's better than a little burnt cheese? When it's not good, the crust is soggy and the cheese is soggy and my spirit is soggy. So when I order from here, I pray to the pizza gods - please give me burnt cheese!
(3)Mujtastik M.
Barely edible pizza. The sauce is ok but the cheese and crust are terrible. The first time I tried it I thought maybe they have the wrong people cooking tonight. A few months later I tried it again and still terrible. So many better places around the Lagrange area.
(1)Donna M.
I can't review the thin crust since we always get the deep dish when we stop at Aurelio's. They have a great beer list and a nice variety of salads. My only complaint is the prices. A deep dish with a couple toppings can cost you over $40 which is a little rough. Also, like some other reviewers mentioned, the pizza can be a little salty. It's still good deep dish pizza.
(4)Sue D.
What a waste of money! Now I know this is a pizza place and we ordered sandwiches, so maybe I was expecting too much. However, when I pay 8.99 for a sandwich, I expect it to be a fairly reasonably sized sandwich, not a child-size literally not even 5 inches long. And the skinny style rolls, more like the size of a short hot dog bun. We ordered four different sandwiches at a cost of $44 and some cents for delivery. The beef sandwich tasted like beef you would buy at the deli at Jewel, and absolutely no au jus to speak of. Very dry. and the bread, while the menu said toasted, to me it tasted more like stale. The chicken sandwich came on what one could only call a square kaiser roll. The chicken was dry and tasted funny. The Italian sub, also dry and definitely not what I consider to be an Italian sub. And the meatball sandwich, actually the best of the 4 sandwiches, I would only give a two. Maybe the pizza is better than the sandwiches but I doubt that I would ever take a chance on wasting that much money again when there are so many other, better choices. (Salerno's, Nonno's, DiNico's, Ledo's)
(1)Chris G.
Great pizza...Consistent Great service Fun environment and great for kids Great location Highly recommended
(4)Jennifer S.
Friendly bartender/waitress and ordered a thin crust sausage pizza that came out super fast on a Saturday night. Good pizza.
(5)D T.
I grew up on this, in Homewood, so it holds a sentimental place in my heart. Joe ( Aurelio) and my grandpa were very good friends. It's crazy to see what my little pizza joint has blossomed into. This locations keeps it simple, like it should be. Service is USUALLY great, food always consistent. Their pizza is fantastic. But it's really expensive! I will drop serious money on food, but it always seems like double what all the other pizza places charge, with the exception of Lucca's. Antipasto salad is bomb, I keep it old school with sausage and mushroom. Can't go wrong.
(4)Billy H.
Excellent food in a cozy atmosphere. TVs playing sports with a BNSF Metra line theme. The booths along the walls have the different stops on the BNSF line. They also have historic photos hanging on the walls of La Grange and the area. I grew up on Aurelio's in Homewood (the original) and loved their pizza - one of my favorites. Over the years, the Homewood location has gone downhill. In comes the La Grange location. The one hidden secret about both locations is you need to ask for the pizza to be baked in the old oven. Yes, La Grange has one too! It just tastes better. I'm a thin crust fan here and would rank their thin crusts as one of my favorites. The sauce is sweeter than most places, which I love. It's more in line with Gino's East than Lou Malnati's. Lou's sauce has more of a tomato taste. The bread sticks and onion rings are pretty good. I was surprised that their beef sandwich was as good as it was. It has a different taste than other beef places, but I enjoy their beef more than Portillo's because it's just a nice change of pace. I usually get it with red sauce on top and sometimes cheese. The owner explained that the difference is in how the beef is cooked. One's pressed, the other isn't. A little background. The owner is also a big fan of the original Aurelio's and wanted to do things right when he opened up the franchise in La Grange. He wanted the best quality ingredients and also brought in an old oven like the original. He is a very nice guy - very personable. He has remembered my family's names since the first time we stepped into his establishment and has stopped by to say hi every time he sees us there. You will see him there every night. To him, I just want to say: Thank you for bringing a great pizza to the western suburbs - just like I remember growing up! The best in the West! Other notes: parking is on the street (if you can get a spot). There is a parking lot on the west end of the block to park. Also, Calendar St is one-way, so you cannot turn on Calendar from La Grange Rd. You need to turn west on Burlington Ave (from the north) (which is the street south of the tracks) OR turn west on Harris Ave (from the south). The aforementioned parking lot is nestled between Burlington, Ashland, and Calendar St with entrances on Calendar and Burlington. PDF of La Grange Menu: aureliospizza.com/pdf/me… Yelp tip: They give you coupons for things like a free appetizer or $5 off every third time you check into here on Yelp.

This is the best thin crust pizza we've found in the area. Service is always nice. Their six inch sized pizzas are perfect since my husband and I like completely different things on our pizzas...lets us have our own without breaking the bank. We tried the toasted ravioli last time we were there...delicious!
(5)Liz K.
My favorite pizza around the neighborhood. Their thin crust is just perfect!!! I usually order for delivery and it is much faster than what they say. Dining in is just as fun. I have never had a problem with the waitstaff...and even if it is crowded you do not have to wait too long. Of course I order a large size because it tastes just as good the next day!! Yum Yum Yum!!
(4)Edward B.
I know lots of people love Aurelio's, but it's just not for me. I've had it twice and both times my stomach got upset (I figured the first time was just a fluke, but apparently not). Admittedly, very acidic things sometimes upset my stomach, and cooked tomato has definitely done that to me. It's not that there's anything wrong with the sauce, it's just not for me. They tout their sauce, but I just don't like it.
(1)Alicia K.
5 stars means "As good as it gets," and in my opinion, this is the best darn pizza you can get in the Chicago area. Yes - better than Uno's, Gino's, Giordano's, Lou Malnati's... whoever. THEY ARE THE BEST for their "STUFFED PIZZA" (a tad lighter than most deep-dish pizzas in terms of topping quantity). The crust here is incredible - it's almost like a sweet pastry, flaky crust and all. For toppings, you really can't go wrong, but their meatballs are not to be missed! If you're looking to round out your meal, the toasted ravioli, while expensive, are delicious and make a great appetizer. And for dessert, they have free Dum-Dums for everyone at the table that they bring with your check. =] Want to save a few bucks? Go with take-out. (No drinks or tip to pay for!) The inside is cute and the service is good, but it's really the pizza you're going for, so enjoying it in the comfort of your own home won't put a damper on your experience. And don't worry - they have a bowl of Dum-Dums by the cash register for take out orders so you aren't missing out! ;]
(5)Marc P.
Good pizza considering its a chain. Mine was salty, but I am from Chicago and prefer a different taste. May have been salty cheese. Good service!! Good atmosphere for the kids and very clean. I most likely wouldn't come back with so many other options around, but wouldn't discourage others from trying.
(3)Candice G.
BEST THIN CRUST PIZZA... PERIOD! Ask for your pizza to be cooked in the "Old World Oven". It takes a little longer but the exceptional taste is well worth the wait. This place doesn't skimp on the toppings and just knows how to make a damn good pie. In comparison to other Aurelio's, both sit down and takeout, this is by far the nicest. The interior decor, the management, the staff- superb! My boyfriend and I were just so impressed... in fact, we were impressed so much so that actually applied for a job... fingers crossed, especially in this economy. I could live with being that close to perfect pizza part time. Oh! How could I forget, they have a very small but very nice bar area with a pretty good beer and wine selection. Very impressive. *Hopefully*, see you soon Aurelio's.
(5)Judy S.
I nominate Aurelio's LaGrange for the best pizza in the village. Not that I've tried them ALL yet, but it's my #1 to date. We just dined there for the first time 2 days ago (we're fairly new in the neighborhood), and here's why the pizza gets my top billing: -- Buttery, crispy crust -- Served on a grate pan, keeping the crust raised for extra crispiness -- More than mozzarella -- the cheese layer has a pungent, very flavorful taste, which I assume comes from multiple cheeses -- Sweet, delicious sauce and just the right amount of it -- Good sausage, with the amount providing a tasty balance with other ingredients Price is a bit higher than some other local pizzerias, but I'd say it's worth it when you're out (or carrying out) for a special Italian treat. The dining atmosphere was quaint and attractive -- subdued lighting, deep green and red colors, dark wood booths and tables, a little neon peeking in from the small, separate bar area. Nice, clean and comfortable! Wait staff was very attentive but not overbearing. I wish there was a 4-1/2 star option since I don't like to rate anything "perfect," but I didn't want to take a star away from Aurelio's LaGrange, because we really enjoyed it. I understand not all the Aurelio's locations are the same, but this one was great. We'll be back, and I'm taking one of the other reviewers tips to ask for the "old oven" next time!
(5)rachel w.
Went here for lunch this past Sunday. The place was mostly empty and the food took what seemed like forever. Pasta with meat sauce was delish! Pizza not so much. they use way too much cheese and cover the entire pizza (to the ends). Our bill for a pizza and a half order of pasta with meat sauce was $45 with tip. Kind of a lot for a lunch of Italian food.
(2)Erin L.
Still my favorite thin crust EVER. The sauce is amazing, all the ingredients are fresh and they use at least 2 varieties of cheese on the top. I might not ever move out of Illinois just for this reason! :)
(5)Paige S.
I've been to Aurelio's in the past in Joliet and loved it. While in La Grange a few weeks back, I decided to dine at Aurelio's in hopes of some delicious pizza, pasta, and a cold beer. The host greeted us promptly and directed us to a table outside. About 10 minutes went by before I was even acknowledged and asked if I wanted a drink. My server was an older lady, not that it matters, but it took her another 10 minutes to even bring my beer back. And by this point we still haven't ordered yet. Slightly becoming irritated at this point, I ordered my thin pizza and my guest ordered pasta. The food arrived within a semi-reasonable amount of time, but our waitress kept sighing every time she brought something to our table. I understand that the hospitality world can be rough, but definitely never let your guests notice. The pasta came out looking rubbery, with barely a dollop of marinara on top. Before we could even point it out to our waitress she scurried away. At this point, I noticed the table behind me growing irritated so I decided to walk inside and scope out a manager. The manager was honestly just as short and inattentive as the server was. I immediately asked for a box and check. I'm an Aurelio's fan, and luckily this experience didn't steer me away. Thank goodness for other locations saving the brands name!

This was just okay for me. I'm not a huge thin crust pizza fan, so for me to rave about it, it has to be pretty fantastic. The pizza itself was pretty good - with one exception - we got sausage, onions, and mushrooms - and the mushrooms used were definitely canned. They were slimy, rubbery, tasteless, and all around gross. Why not use fresh mushrooms?? It's so easy!!! I'm so confused :(

I use to work for Aurelio's back in Joliet and we have been eating a various Aurelio's Restaurants for the last 30 years. Not sure what happen to the idea that franchising would produce a similar product but this is not the Aurelio's that I remember.

A lot of people love Aurelio's, sorry, I'm not one of them. Nothing negative, I just don't think it's all that great. Ordered a thin crust pizza with sausage and mushrooms. The pizza came pretty quickly. I just found the pizza a bit too greasy and the sauce was just too sweet, almost like barbeque sauce without the hickory smoke flavor. It was much better the next morning though, made for a great breakfast cold pizza. Restaurant itself is pretty nice though. Nice little bar area where you can swill beer and people watch. I would definitly come here to have a few drinks. But the pizza itself wouldn't be a draw.

Pretty darn good pizza though this time around they went a little too heavy on the sauce. The best part about their pizza in my opinion is the cheese! Host staff is a little awkward but once you get past them everything else is smooth sailing. Our server was a nice guy and helped us decide the best pizza options, etc. Aurelios is a great old standby, when you go here you pretty much know what you're getting. no surprises...usually. They have this cookie dough dessert thing that I really want to go back to try. But that would almost mean not eating pizza or just going for dessert. decisions, decisions. check em out.

I only really get carry out so can't comment on eating in. The pizza is almost always ready right about when they say it will be, and the pizza rocks!

Outstanding! Friendly private intimate setting. Great food and service! Must go!

$10 for 4 pieces of cheese ravioli? They were good, but not THAT good. Won't be coming back

one of the best pizza places in the midwest!
(5)Jake K.
My family and i went to Aurelios on a Friday night for there pizza. We got there and you could tell they were very busy. The hosts were so accomadating and nice and got us a table as soon as one opened. we sat down and we knew we had to order their sausage pizza. Our waitress brought it out to us in a timley fashion. The pizza was amazing. we would go back again not just for the pizza but also for the service!

If you like thin crust pizza this place takes extra pains to make sure the crust is nice and crunchy...not soggy! On top of the usual pan, they place a grate of sorts that keeps the pizza aerated so that the crust doesn't get soggy from condensation underneath. I hate soggy, limp crust. We ordered a thin crust sausage, pepperoni and mushrooms and it was a delicious, italian tasting pizza. My husband was in the mood for pizza and our favorite place, John's on Ogden Avenue seems to have mysteriously closed down over the last week. Hmmm... Anyway, he ordered a family size ....cuz my husband has a huge appetite and he figured he'd take some for work and snacks for the next day or so. And of course there was plenty left over. I ordered their spaghetti with marinara and a $3 meatball. In my opinion, the spaghetti was quite a bit over al dente and that meatball may have been 60% meat, the rest breadcrumbs. BUT, it was tasty. I made the comment to my husband that they cooked the spaghetti for a kid's palate. We both had a drink and they were generously poured. The waitress was pleasant and food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. Only four stars because of the overcooked spaghetti and for stretching out the meatballs with too many breadcrumbs. All in all a tasty and pleasant dining experience. We've found a reliable pizza place for future cravings.

I love good pizza and I'm a sucker when it comes to passing by a pizza place or hearing about one...so when I saw Aurelio's deliver a pizza on Windy City Live To Jane Lynch I had to go try one! Since it's my first time I always like ordering just a basic cheese pizza..the front desk girl was very nice, so was the guy I'm guessing he was the manager? Very friendly..and that's why this place receives a star..only for the friendly staff..pizza was over priced and greasy. Not at all worth the money you pay..crust tasted like chuck cheeses breadsticks and sauce was just bland..nothing special...save your money! First time and last for me! I have no clue why this place got high reviews..certainly not for the food!

We hopped on over just after we arrived here from Atlanta and dug in to our first REAL pizza since the last time we were in Chicago. First I need to give a shout out to the village of La Grange. What an amazing area! The shopping here is really nice- the stores and restaurants are all SO cute and it really does my heart good to see a thriving business district such as this these days. Bravo La Grange! Ok- back to the pizza. No frills for us- no sides just beer and pizza. So good! We ordered the "fiesta" size- sausage (REAL Chicagoans ALWAYS order sausage!), mushroom, onion and black olive. When it arrived we assumed there would be leftovers. No deal. We polished that baby off to the last crumb. Great crust, great sauce, great cheese and perfect sausage. A perfect 10 in my book. Go and enjoy!

Aurelio's is a pizza place that satisfies the hungry soul. It's been a venerated Chicago area chain since the 60's, and my parents were ardent patrons of the original Homewood location in its early days before they moved. We all went here to celebrate my birthday, and ordered a thin-crust sausage pizza. My mom's been to several Aurelio's and believes they're all good, but all make pizza in their own different way. I believe this Aurelio's is great and is a welcome addition to the LaGrange restaurant scene, especially since most of the restaurants in the downtown area are more on the gourmet side and less on pizza / family fare. The pizza was great, and they were easy on the tomato sauce, which is a huge plus for me. Next time I have pizza at this Aurelio's, I'll wait for it to cool down a bit; the cheese tastes outstandingly good.

The first time I went to Aurelio's in Lagrange it was great, the Food was outstanding and the server was great. My husband and I went on Satruday, April 6th and it was very dissappointing. The server never smiled and never checked on us, she did the bare minimum. We ordered the Fried Ravioli appetizer and it was so dry and over cooked, then I ordered the Chicken Parmesean Sandwich and the chicken was like rubber and had NO flavor, it was awful ! I don't know if I want to give them another chance, but I do think they have great atmosphere and very clean washrooms
(3)Kristen R.
My best friend and her guy are all sorts of obsessed with this place, so it wasn't long before they dragged me out of the OP to LaGrange. Not being a pizza-and-beer kind of girl, I was a little skeptical that I would be super satisfied. Thankfully I was wrong! Got the cheese ravioli with marinara sauce, and the sauce was absolutely delish. Very filling and yummy, and I literally wiped the plate clean with bread. Even the pizza my bff ordered looked quite great. The restaurant is cute, and apparently this chain is run by a legitamate Aurelio-raised cook who spent months and months at the mother store. According to my friend, its the best one in the immediate area. Overall, very happy I went here and very satisfied! mangia mangia =)

Nice place to take your family for pizza. Service was great!! We enjoyed the sausage pizza. Prices are decent. Reservations recommended for larger parties. We will likely return.

Great pizza--great service! Go!

OK. I grew up with Aurelio's pizza on the South Side. This pizza is just like i remember it. I love the thin crispy crust. I like to be able to pick up a piece of pizza, and with this pizza, you can. I'm not a huge fan of tons of cheese. I think they use the right amount of cheese. The sauce is what gets me! It's not really sweet, so it's perfect for me. OK, now the reason it is 3 stars. I bought 2 large pizzas and it cost me almost $60. Now, I'm not cheap and we bought Aurelio's because we think it's the best in La Grange. But, there is no reason for it to cost that much. Pizza should not cost an arm and a leg. The owner bought me a beer, but that doesn't change the fact. It's pretty expensive. I'll probably keep going there, but not very often. I wish they would do something about the prices.

Arrived 20 minutes prior to posted closing time, sign said closed, went in, was told they could seat us, then were told, oh...sorry, "My mgr just told me we can't serve you, cuz the closed sign is already up." Just put a "?" as the closing time. Very upset by this treatment.

I went to Aurelio's for lunch with a few colleagues today and was not impressed. It took about 10 minutes to get our drinks (water or diet), another 10 for our three salads, and another 50 minutes for three medium pizzas! It was taking so long we had them box it up and we ate back in the office. It'd be one thing if it was a Saturday night, but we were the only table in there. In the end, the pizza was ok, but the service was slow. Not sure where the issue is, but plan for a long "experience" at Aurelio's.
(1)Salvador S.
The service was great, the place looks great but the thin crust pizza was not that good. Why was the pizza on the bad side, the cheese for one was just bland and test less, it failed the stretch test "that's when you pull a slice and the cheese should stretch for a good foot". The ingredients were not fresh or at least they looked like they came put of a can. I have had way better thin crust then this so I can't understand why this place was so highly rated for their thin crust pizza. I have not tried anything else so their other dishes might be good but for me if the pizza is not right then I'm not coming back for the rest.
(2)Eddie H.
The Thin crust pizza here is quite good here, and so is the cheesy garlic bread... the restaurant itself is also very nice and in a good location... The reason i'm giving it 3 stars is because i ordered a 16 inch pepperoni and onion pizza and it was nearly $30 dollars.... it just seams quite pricey for thin crust pizza
(3)Christopher R.
Quickie review - yet another variant on pizza in Chicago. Not known for deep dish or, say, New York style, this place has their own very particular pie. Cheese: Not your typical mozz, this place uses a blend that I'm sure must include some strongly flavorful dry italian cheese (think Asiago), my favorite part. Sauce: sweet and salty (my wife grumbles when I order from here due to the obvious sodium load). I recommend ordering with extra sauce. Crust: less memorable, almost medium weight, but does not distract.

I've only been to this Aurelio's a couple of times but I organized my dad's 70th surprise party at this location and everybody was helpful from beginning to end. The managers and wait staff were fantastic. Everybody loved the food.
(5)Peter M.
Historically, I would only eat deep dish pizza. Aurelio's turned me on to thin crust and their thin crust meat ball is now my favorite pizza. Their deep dish is also very good and is done differently than other places. Other than pizza, the sub sandwiches are excellent. Other items are standard fare for a casual, family restaurant. In other words, I wouldn't go there if I didn't want pizza. The restaurant itself is very clean. There are TVs typically showing sporting events. The service is inconsistent, and, at busy times, getting the attention of the wait staff can be difficult. Parking, especially on Friday and Saturday, can be difficult.
(4)Chris W.
This is a pretty nice pizza restaurant in downtown Lagrange. The atmosphere is nice. It is near the railroad tracks, so there is a lot of railroad decor and photos. The restaurant itself is very clean and nicely set up. There is a small area for outside seating as well if that does anything for you. The staff was very friendly although we had one issue where some of our food was given to another table. Mistakes happen, so I wouldn't hold it against them. The food is pretty good. The pizza is tasty. The thin crust is all I have ever had and they do a great job with it. The ingredients are fresh. It is certainly not the best pizza in Chicago, but it is still pretty good. Besides pizza, they offer a myriad of other options like salads, pastas, and sandwiches. Price is very comparable to other pizza restaurants in the Chicagoland area. Large pizza is about $20-25. The location and the food make this place worthy of my time/money. I enjoy it and would recommend it.
(4)Malia M.
Love this place. We are always treated like family here. Table staff are extremely attentive and friendly. From the mozzarella stick to the pizzas, everything arrives hot. Delicious. Very much recommended.
(5)Jessica M.
All I have to say is if you've never tried their thin crust - it's a MUST! So delicious. My boyfriend and I have done dine-in and delivery here and it's soooo good!

on saturday night, my husband and i were only half way home, another 40 miles to go, when we stopped off in lagrange for a pizza at aurelio's and a chance to watch one of the final four matches. we had one of the best waiters (named matt) that i have had in a very long, long time, (from any restaurant!) he was pleasantly attentive, engaging, without being overly present like some are. we ordered a spinach salad to split (med) and then a large thin pizza with, spinach, mushroom, onion, red and green peppers and then mushrooms on only half. when it arrived it was topped to the max and looked like ingredients were freshly picked from the garden! you have to order this one. it is now our new favorite.my husband siad his glass of red was 'satisfying'. i told the waiter that 'he was exceptional at what he does'. he told us that working in a family pizzeria is what he always wanted to do, and that he liked it there". well, it shows! next time you go to aurelios, ask for matt and tell him his new friends from buffalo grove said 'hi".
(5)Sara R.
This place is great. The pizzas are tasty and you can't beat 1/2 off wine bottles on Mondays!
(5)Nisa D.
Pizza was great big for a large we order the the signature six. The only thing that was bad was the services waitress was in a bad mood or not happy to be working there. She slam the menus on the table and gave an attitude every time she ask if we needed anything. Overall OK place service not so great.
(3)Kate C.
This is by far and away the best non-deep dish pizza in Chicago! We live downtown and order from the Aurelio's in the Holiday Inn at Congress but when the one in La Grange opened, we were blown away! The crust kind of tastes like it has cheese its crushed in it. I think I imagine that...but it is sooo yummy! We always get it with pepperoni and a pitcher of Miller Lite - perfect Friday date night. The only gripe I have (being a city dweller working in the suburbs) is there are a ton and I mean a ton of kids in crocs and north face jackets running around. I guess that is what we get for invading the suburban pizza joint. One night the grandson of the founder made our pizza - what a treat! Try it, you'll like it!
(5)Charlie J.
I don't know what it is about this place, but the pizza is so freakin' good. We purposely order much more than we need so we can have extras in the fridge for days to come. It's something about the cheese. It's definitely a family spot and is packed on Friday nights. Our family eats a lot of pie and we keep coming back to this joint. We haven't tried anything other than the thin crust, though.
(4)A.J. D.
Great thin pizza, green olives are way too salty.
(4)Colby S.
In a city with so much great food, there is no need to settle for hum- drum Italian food for $$. They have taken advantage of their location and chainish prowess. If they were just $ I'd give em' four stars but the cost to value ratio just doesn't add up.
(2)Stephen B.
Love it. Wife is from Homewood, IL and every since going to the original location and getting our pizza's well done in the "old oven", I've been hooked. Love this location's feel and the pizza's are just as good. Bravo!
(5)Stacey K.
In all fairness the last time I was in Aurelio's before last Wednesday, June 9th, it was the original Hometown location and I was about 17. Take it from me: that was a reeeeally long time ago. So - from work I called and ordered a large pizza with mushroom and sausage and a side of garlic bread to feed 4 adults. (One of our friends talked us into Aurelio's - I'll never let that happen again) We had a few people over that night. I don't know if anyone can recall, but it was game 6...you know..... the night that THE BLACKHAWKS WON THE STANLEY CUP...... Sorry, I'm back. I had to step away to dry my eyes. Anyway.....I'll just go for the jugular here because really, why mince words? Those two items came to $31. Umm....w-h-a-t??? The whole 3 minute ride home I kept repeating; this better be good. Well, it was ok. just ok. No big deal here folks. C'mon - move along. Nothing to see here, the show's over...... (pssst.......go to Antonino's! Now! Why are you still sitting here reading this? GO!!!!!!)

I grew up in Homewood and worked as a teen at the Homewood Aurelio's. I can tell you this Aurelio's is as good as the original. I teased the owner Ross when they opened that he "had big shoes to fill" as I knew how this pizza should taste! They have never disappointed me. The owner made sure by sending his co-owner to work at the Homewood Aurelio's for 6 months. Also, they use the same ovens as Homewood and all the same ingredients, no scrimping. It may cost a little more, but you really can taste the difference. Plus, we always have exceptional service and the atmosphere is just beautiful. Delivery service is also terrific. I have used for large parties at my house and they have been great at suggesting toppings and sizes based on my head count, plus very prompt. La Grange is very fortunate to have them.
(5)David G.
I am not a big fan of thin crust pizza, but I love Aurelio's think crust. It's excellent!!! I'm not sure if the La Grange location does lunch buffet. If not check out the lunch buffet at the Aurelios in the southwest burbs: Frankfort, New Lennox, Joliet. It would get five stars, but the pizzas are a little pricey.
(4)Lynn C.
We love the fried ravioli appetizer and the warm cookie sundae dessert. Both are unique and melt in your mouth! Service is attentive, and I've enjoyed all of the pizza and pasta dishes I've tried.
(5)mike b.
As much as I hate to say it but Aurelio's needs to rethink their menu. Yes, it is a pizza joint, essentially, and it is indeed a good pizza, but I went in there on a Friday night and waited 45 minutes to get seated. I ordered their Cobb Salad and it was a hastily put together assembly of iceberg lettuce and shreeded cheeses from the supermarket deli section, some tomatoes and diced ham. Ugh!. ELEVEN DAMN DOLLARS. Whaaaaaat? Outrageous. Eleven dollars for salad is a rip. NO WAY that is a value. Their spaghetti is horrible limpy, and very diner-esque. Aurelio's is resting on their laurels and it's a shame because the captive audience that goes there won't complain and pay the money anyway....like the price of milk. If you're going to go there stick with the pizza and sandwiches and make note of the prices. They're a tad high for the value, I think.
(2)Rodrigo D.
This place has great customer service. The manager checks on tables to see how everything is going and he will be glad to help out with anything that you need. Their thin crust pizza is really great.
(5)John W.
Great Pizza. Moved here a few years ago from Macomb-Aurelios is there also. I did not realize they were up here in Chicago area. The decor is Awesome, very clean, ate at the bar and the bartender was very helpful and friendly. Can't wait to go back.

I have been using this store for carryouts, I was at this store 4/5/2012 at 1140am.. I thought to take my son of 15yrs of age with me to finally try Aurelio's out dinning in..We also for the first time tried their Deep Dish Pizza(Medium)..Well being 1st timer's of their Deep Dish we started eating the pizza, I noticed that the crust was kind of over done(but Being Aureilo's we continued), After the 1st piece we attempted a second this time scrapping off the too much sauce, which covered a BURNT PIZZA!! We were asked by the waitress and commented on this travesty!! Which the Owner came and saw the pizza was burnt, his main concern was that we already ate 1/2 the pizza(2pieces each) By which he surmised that we shouldn't have eaten so much if it was bad, EXCUSE US for TRUSTING AUREILO"S!! He gave us three 5 dollar coupons and CHARGED US FULL PRICE ON THE BURNT PIZZA!! That we had FOUR NOT FULLY EATEN PIECES!! Come on were is CUSTOMER SERVICE,, WERE I will TELL YOU ALL in Willowbrook at a Pizza Parlor that is Customer Orientated and Knows that if a mistake on their part is there, They DO NOT CHARGE FULL PRICE FOR A HALF EATEN BRUNT PIZZA!! Stay away from their DEEP DISH! Giordanos in Willowbrook is the best in town and they CARE about their CUSTOMER'S TOO!! Do yourself a favor and pass on this Aureilo's Parlor THEY are not CUSTOMER ORIENTATED!! I have never been accused of EATING TO MUCH OF A BRUNT PIZZA!!! OH YA, It was my FAULT!!

I have ordered pizza from Aurelio's twice in the past week. I run a program for students that required some celebratory, end-of-the-year meals. One meal included a student with a gluten allergy. The other required something for a kid with a dairy allergy. To top it all off, we're a tax exempt organization, so they had to deal with that, too. Aurelio's handled all of our wacky requests graciously and efficiently. Our pizza was ready on time, and it was DE-licious. I highly recommend this restaurant both for the quality of the food and the qualify of the service. You won't be disappointed!
(5)Elizabeth T.
Ordered a pizza for dinner last night. I have been a fan of Aurelio's Pizza for 30+ years. The pizza was not up to its usual quality. Crust too thick, not enough sauce and too heavy on the cheese. I hope this is an isolated experience and not another franchise going down hill. For half the price (and Aurelio's is not cheap) I could have picked up a frozen "Vito and Nic's" and had a pizza of superior quality and taste. I will think twice before ordering again, and will be lisening to what the neighbors to see if they also have noticed Aurelios gong down hill.

Oh, boy. Such delicious pizza, such a bad recent experience. Dinner with a few people here is fine, but BEWARE, they can't handle any sort of large group despite taking a reservation and receiving two follow-ups from the customer(one phone call, one personal visit). Our group lunch turned into a three hour fiasco. Our server was very nice and doing the best she could, but one person can only do so much. 20 minutes between arrival and drinks, 50 minutes until our appetizer order was taken, over TWO HOURS until we got our pizzas. Drink refills were virtually non-existent, they ran out of plates and salad dressing containers, and the pizza was finally delivered luke-warm. My subsequent to the restaurant to visit with the manager and give him a chance to make it right (I believe it was management's fault, absolutely not the serviers) resulted in no offer to make the situation better(though, to be fair, I didn't ask for compensation). In the end, our dinner was more expensive then we planned because of all the extra appetizers we had to order to keep our guests from passing out from hunger while we waited for our meal. Delicious pizza, very poorly managed. Next time we'll find somewhere that can handle it. Certainly not this Aurelio's. I don't like to call out my local places, but if this review helps one family to avoid the stress and embarrassment caused to me by the incompetence I experienced on my most recent visit to this Aurelio's, then I believe it's worth it.
(2)Melissa L.
For a born and bred Chicagoan, I am picky about pizzas but Aurelios passes the test with flying colors. Every Aurelios is not the same, but this one has been consistently good in the past 3 years I have visited. Good enough that instead of trekking to one of the more famous places for deep dish, we take our out of town guests here for a taste of Chicago pizza and we all leave with happy tummies and smiles on our faces. I recommend spinach, cheese and mushroom.
(4)B A.
The pizza is delicious - the thin crust is the best we've had in Chicago. The waitstaff was attentive, and the owner even dropped by our table to ensure everything was great. In addition to the thin crust, we tried the spinach roll and the deep dish cookie dessert - everything was excellent! Can't wait to go again.
(5)rachel g.
This place is the best. The pizza is delicious, even though it is kind of different from normal pizza. It has a thinner crust and really good cheese. I'm from the East Coast too, and it is not the same as pizza at home, it is totally different but also delicious. The stuffed spinach things are sooo good -- I can't remember what they're called. Service was great -- I went when they just opened and the place was totally packed but I still got seated and got my food really fast, and bartenders were great while we waited for a table. I will for sure go back!
(5)Deborah D.
I'm not sure why this place is so popular. Yes, the crust is good, but that's the only thing that was. There was so much grease on the cheese it actually congealed when it cooled and they used canned, yes canned, mushrooms. Come on, how hard is it to use fresh? And this isn't cheap pizza either folks. Maybe it's because I'm from the East Coast originally, but I've had way better and can't recommend this pizza. There is no way I'd go back. It's not cheap, but for a little more, I think Lucca's in La Grange wins hands down for pizza in this town.
